Telefilm on Sheikh Russel

A telefilm is being made on Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The title of the telefilm is “Mayer Kachey Jabo”.

Story and scripted by filmmaker Shahid Rahman, Hasan Rezaul is the director of the film. Child artiste Dihan will play Sheikh Russel while noted actor Jyotika Jyoti will portray the role of Bangamata in the project.

This was disclosed at press conference held at Officers Club in the capital recently. A poster of the film was also unveiled at the press conference.

Shahid Rahman along with Hasan Rezaul, the film’s creative director Prasoon Rahman, child artiste Dihan, Jyotika Jyoti, actor Christiano Tanmoy who played the role of Sheikh Kamal, Bangladesh Awami League Presidium Member Dr Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, former Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Kanak Kanti Barua, among others, were present on the occasion.

Dhaka University’s former vice-chancellor Professor Dr AMS Arefin Siddique presided over the programme.

About the film, Shahid Rahman said, “The shooting of the film will begin on 10 May. As the premiere of the project will be held on June 16 in Kolkata and Delhi in India, all the work will be completed before then. After that, the Dhaka premiere show of the film will be held with gala event.”
